Exhibit: Art in the Embassies – Riga, Latvia

“Wesserunsett Lake, Maine” (16×24, Edition #2/10) is now on view in Riga, Lativa

“Excited” would be an understatement.

A few years ago, I created a free artist profile on the Art in the Embassies website and promptly forgot about it. Then out of the blue, I was contacted by a curator putting together an exhibition for the Embassy in Riga, Latvia. Cool. Basically, I was to provide the artwork and they would take care of the rest – framing(yes!), shipping, insurance, catalog and any other costs associated with the exhibition. Excellent. The exhibit features a variety of American artists and will be on view for the next 2 years. While I have collectors around the world, this is my first official international exhibit. It’s exciting and for them to pick an image from the place I grew up has made it even sweeter.

If you like this image, it is available as a limited edition print in 3 sizes. Contact me for more info. I have one copy in my bedroom so it’s the first thing I see every morning. This summer a divorce lawyer’s office purchased one for their waiting room – perhaps they were moved by the “XOXOX” pattern in the image?
