New Work: Oceans Project, Schoodic Peninsula

Oceans: Schoodic Peninsula

I had the opportunity to travel back to Maine in May to shoot some personal work. Murray, my senior Boston terrier came along and that portion of the trip is chronicled here…it was fun.  We spend a few days along the coast in Winter Harbor, near Acadia National Park so I could sketch out some ideas for my Oceans Project. I’m not entirely sure what the project will be yet but my internal pull to be near the sea is what’s leading me to make the work. So I’m going to follow that intention for now and let it develop naturally.

You could say I’m in collecting mode. Collecting moments, light, ideas. Eventually the collection will begin to coalesce into a direction for the work. Then I’ll move forward with a clearer definition for what I’m trying to accomplish. It takes time to create something new, especially something worthwhile. I’m still learning but know I have something to say, something to offer. While standing on the rocks at the Schoodic Peninsula in Acadia, I could feel it.
