Photo A Day ~ Out for a Walk

Last weekend Northern Virginia had a little ice storm. One of those that started with snow, then turned to sleet, then to freezing rain. Terrible if you’re on the roads or you’re a small tree branch.  In the end we had about 1/4 inch of ice that coated everything, turning the forest into a winter wonderland. Since I didn’t have to be anywhere in particular,  I took the afternoon to explore and photograph the civil war battlefield near my house for this week’s photo a day series.

Sue Nature can be so beautiful when coated with ice. It’s good not to have to drive in it. We are expecting this type of storm on the Sunday before Christmas. Here’s hoping all are safe. I especially like the photo with the deer. It is surprising that it was quiet enough in the woods that you could sneak up on him.. Love your work.
