Photo A Day ~ Winter in Maine

Here’s your understatement of the day: Winter in Maine is cold.

When I was a child, there were a few times (not many but the few were memorable) that school closed because it was -40 degrees out. Yes, that’s right. When it’s that cold, it almost doesn’t register. Have you ever seen ice fog? I have and it’s beautiful, especially when viewed from a window next to a wood stove. There were other times when it was a balmy 30 degrees and I’d go snowshoeing, skiing or any other winter activity and living in Maine during the winter was awesome.

In honor of my upcoming trip to Maine, I chose a few winter shots from my home state for this week’s Photo A Day series.  These images will be available at my print shop for the next 4 weeks. Enjoy the holidays!
