~ Photo of the Week #20 ~ Fort Williams Park, Maine

There are few places in this country that I love more than Maine. Actually, I can’t think of any. I still consider Maine my home even though I haven’t officially lived there since I graduated high school. Most of my family and many friends reside in ‘vacationland” which makes going home a treat.

Last week I headed north with my husband to attend a family wedding, throw a surprise engagement party for a life-long friend and explore the western mountains with my aunt and uncle. In between all of those events we were able to spend one foggy morning at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth, best known for the first lighthouse in Maine, Portland Head Light. Since the lighthouse has been the subject of thousands of photographs, I chose to focus on the incredible rocky coastline made up of mostly granite. Here’s my favorite & the selection for this week’s Photo of the Week:

Week 20 ~ Ship Cove, Casco Bay, Maine

A foggy morning on the ocean and a bunch of rocks to climb all over will make me a happy girl. Fort Williams Park is a great place to visit. It has picnic tables, lots of open space and beautiful views. It’s also free, but be sure to add a few bucks in the donation box to keep this beautiful park clean. Here are a few more from our foggy morning:
